Sometimes it is necessary for growth to dissociate yourself from certain influences and don’t listen to emotions which are against you. You gotta learn to love the challenges don’t take on this dark miserable identity. You’re going to rationalise bullshit if you do and find ways not to move forward with your goals.
Give yourself permission to move forward from the fantasy and dreaming that it will happen one day take responsibility, take logical steps and man the fuck up and take the necessary action put yourself in the situation where you have to man up.
What would you do if there was a gun pointed to your head?
In Fight Club this film scene is so powerful because there is no other force stronger for change than fear of death. Tyler does this act out of kindness sort off for the poor store clerk who is scared shitless Tyler asked him what he wants to do with his life and tries to motivate the poor guy to do his passions in life by demands.
“Tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of Raymond K. Hessel’s life. His breakfast will taste better than any meal you and I have ever tasted” You can bet Raymond properly in rolled in school the next day.If someone points a gun at you and tells you to do something then you have no choice to achieve it no matter what it is. Your survival instincts will kick in and you will achieve things you thought might have been impossible in the past.
Its a great lesson that fear can be a good motivator and that we should always be pushing out of our comfort zones and have a major impact on someone else’s life but be a little bit more subtle than a gun.
