Why Sales Is The Ultimate Self-Help


I’ll start by saying:

“You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.” – Zig Ziglar

Plan to be a salesman right now yes right now because everyone is a salesman whether you’re selling:

  • Your credentials for a new job
  • Making new friends
  • Giving advice to family about buying a new car that you recommend
  • Going to club trying to attract hot chicks
  • Putting your cologne on before your night out that’s all selling

Every fucker is selling and they don’t even know it.

The big stigma of sales

Personally sales should be learnt at university level not theoretical nonsense but where students should be put into the trenches to learn how to make deals and close.

Yes there is marketing but pure sales is on another level.

Here is why:

Who are the top earners in companies?

Sales teams bringing in 6-8 figure sums for their company each month.

Who are the ones bringing in the customers?

Sales folk cold calling prospects and bringing in the orders.

Few guys can make a company go broke or make them millions.

If you want to be successful in business and I personally do you must learn how to sell it is as simple as that whether that be copywriting, cold calling or pitching face to face.

This bad stigma and stereotypes that people have against sales is fluff and bullshit.

If you say you are a salesman you get beaten to a pulp  if you mention it to strangers that you make a living in sales.

People look down on sales saying “I am not one of those guys” like there a scammer or using sorcery .

Personally you can’t afford not to like sales.

Sales will get you business and life success to bring in the benjamins.

When you’re starting out you’re probably going to hate it but tough luck it is important for your success.

You learn the hard way on how to be sociable, how to get over fear of rejection and learn how to persuade and influence.

Find your own mentors and books to read and read every day new material or better find a few key books and straight up study it cover to cover.

A book a day is a great habit to have though.

On another note, the most passionate sales people are the best sellers you should be passionate about what you are selling whether you are selling yourself for that job, potential girlfriend or that new start up product you designed etc.

You need to be good at selling yourself if you’re not then work on it.

If you are starting a business you are now a sales person , no bullshit about working on the product or doing “research” get it out there NOW  and worry about the design later and work on actually SELLING IT  instead of working more on the product and services.

Do the basics necessary for the product and service to see if you can sell it instead making premium features and getting too far down the line with costs when you can’t even make one sale.

Sell the thing first then start buying different parts of your business later.

The most important task is to:

Talk to prospects, talk to prospects and keep talking to prospects.

Solving a painful problem should be the first thing you should be thinking about when coming up with products and services then comes trying to bring in the bacon.

Prospecting is defined as one of the most important aspects of sales because it’s the process of building up your leads (prospects). You can’t cheat on prospecting. It’s a measurable ‘numbers game’  and it should be taking seriously like you are star athlete and it’s game time.
